Fitting and Adjusting Tips

How to Measure Your Foot Length

  • Stand with the heel to a wall and put a measuring tape under your feet
  • Read off the measured foot length in millimeters before your longest toe
  • If you're between sizes, choose the next higher – feet expand slightly under load

Birkenstock products are offered in European sizes. You can determine your Birkenstock size by adding 31 to your U.S. women's size and 33 to your U.S. men's size.
N = Narrow Fit  |  R = Regular Fit

Adjusting

Before trying them on, flex the footbed a few times by hand. This helps break them in faster. Step in, adjust the straps for comfort, and allow some movement space.

Wearing

Wear for short periods (a few hours) the first 5–6 times. This helps your feet gradually adapt to the contoured footbed and arch support.

Note: Birkenstock footwear is made in European sizes.
